Presenting the influence of compressed natural gas (CNG) used as alternative fuel on combustion an automotive diesel engine represents main objective this paper. The paper studies brake specific energetic consumption, in-cylinder pressure and rise rate, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, smoke hydrocarbons emissions at 2000 rev/min 40%, 55% 70% load. Low content will determine lower CO 2 all loads; NO x are influenced by both substitution operating regime. HC emission reach higher levels in diesel-gas mode than conventional homogeneous percentage charge per cycle grows with quantity CNG admitted into cylinder. In cases rate dual-fuel those due to premixed developed during ignition delay phase. LHV (lower heating value) gaseous state loads consumption. Smoke be negatively low medium but high it drop more 30 percent.
